![]() ![]() But, it manages a few notable improvements, and it's still a pretty kick-ass Guitar Hero game. Guitar Hero World Tour feels a little coarse at times, and it's still finding its footing in the full-band format. ![]() So, let's state the general conclusion: Guitar Hero World Tour offers an experience that is so similar to what the Rock Band series has been serving up that the deciding factor for most is going to be the tracks that are on the disc. Over the years I have had 2 or 3 Les Pauls stop working, but that is nothing compared to the total number of plastic guitars I've been through and they always last the longest as long as you take care of them.An increasingly familiar sight.Ever since Harmonix and RedOctane broke up the original Guitar Hero band, it's become nigh impossible to talk about either Guitar Hero or Rock Band without drawing comparisons betwixt, and Guitar Hero World Tour's introduction of drums and vocals to the mix only serves to make those comparisons all the more apt. Just thought someone might be interested in someone else's thoughts since you didn't recommend the only guitar here I think is even worth recommending to someone. I would not personally trust any guitar made after GH3, or any guitar Harmonix has released for Rock Band. Even both my GH1 guitars and my original wireless PS2 guitar still work with no issues at all. They needed some minor maintenance (I had to put coins behind the buttons because some of them were flickering, but that's much cheaper than the strum bar fix for the later guitars and I've never encountered the dead capacitor problem) Considering the World Tour and Guitar Hero 5 controllers all have much weaker strum bars and feel cheaper in general, I, personally, would recommend the GH 3 guitar over any later one any day. Best of luck finding a reasonable priced receiver for this guitar.īeen playing consistently for 15 years, had every single GHWT and later guitar quit working on me in some way but I have 2 Les Pauls that still work perfectly fine, been using the same ones since before RB4 came out. No input lag at all as far as i can tell playing with it for the past 2 years. ![]() Plus no detachable neck so no note dropping. No slider bar makes tapping sections much more easier and removable parts for customization if your into that sort of thing. Guitar Hero Warriors Of Rock Guitar (Reconmended) The final guitar of the series is also a much better guitar in terms of durability. There is also little to no input lag from my experience. Guitar Hero 5 Guitar (Strongly Recommended): The Guitar Hero 5 Guitar is a major improvement from the World Tour guitar and plays really well along with a better and more durable strum bar. But has a weaker strum switch which can wear out pretty quickly the input lag is also far less noticable (Not recommended for Clone Hero) World Tour Guitar (Sort Of Recommend): Unlike the Les Paul the World Tour Guitar will sync just fine and play much better too. Those that do sync also have terrible input lag and can shut off mid gameplay. ![]() Guitar Recommendations: Les Paul (Not recommended): A good amount of Les Pauls for the PS3 have a broken capacitor rendering them useless and will not sync. (Small black USB connector with the headstock as a photo) This one is only compatible with the PS3 Warriors Of Rock Guitar and will not work with any other Guitar mentioned. The Warriors of Rock Guitar as well has it’s own dongle. Example: You can use a World Tour Guitar with a Les Paul Receiver or a Les Paul Guitar with a World Tour Receiver (They are interchangeable) Guitar Hero 5 Guitars (Red & White Faceplate) also has it’s own dongle (Black box with newer Guitar Hero Logo and says in the back: Wireless Receiver For PS3 & PS2.) However the Guitar Hero 5 Receiver will not work with either the Les Paul and World Tour Guitar. But if you need more clear information: The Les Paul Guitar and World Tour Guitar (Orange faceplate) Will work with either a Les Paul Wireless Receiver or a World Tour Wireless Receiver (Black box with classic Guitar Hero Logo). Guitar Hero guitars for PS3 require dongles no matter what guitar you use. ![]()
